Yeh we'll go for a Wednesday fun session tomorrow night and talk about it more then... and perhaps demo the difference between b'hop and air straffing - I'm sure Chika or Kal could help me with that!
People have accused me of bunny hopping before, but I really don't. The only thing I do is use my forward key, strafe left and strafe right and work the mouse to twist and turn. I don't use binds or scripts or anything to help me move in the air. It's purely skill and practise.
My keyboard set up is like this...
7 - strafe left
8 - forward
9 - strafe right
Left Mouse - primary fire
Right Mouse - secondary fire / knife etc
Mouse wheel - weapon switch
Mouse button 3 - reload
Mouse button 4 - drop gunThis is as simple as it gets. No binds on the mouse wheel or anything like that. It's just forwards, straffing and moving with the mouse. Some people have seen my vanishing trick - if someone comes to knife me or hits me with the first right click, I instantly jump, twist the mouse and strafe to get vertical and sideways movement and get away from the 2nd knife - "where's he gone" they say. Well half of them do... half the time I get caught, but I still manage to avoid quite a few 2nd knifes.. ;)
I think moves like that are legit. What amazes me is that somone who b'hops or uses scripts is able to get up to full or excessive speeds within a split second from a stand still. That means that as I'm walking out of spawn, someone is already nailing me in the head because they've got more than half away across the map. In simple terms that is a speed hack.
The other thing i've noticed is that when the low grav aerial battles commence I can excel some days but when b'hoppers are on, I struggle to come out on top. Against any regular I can normally out match most players for air straffing, and vertical drops followed by a knife in the back are my speciality.

But try chasing a b'hopper through the air and you'll get left behind. You won't be able to keep up. Simple.
Tail tail signs of a b'hopper are multiple jumps (used to build speed by avoiding contact with the ground) and expect the player to move through the air at a much faster speed than everyone else.
So as Rufus said, we want to keep GG a fun and FAIR place to be. I expect our admins to set an example. I've spoken with several of you about it before. Please get on board. Moreover, I expect our admins to enforce this ruling as it's a decision we've made based on the fact GG is a sponsored server. It's a local rule that helps to keep the server fun. Normal process applies, warnings, slaps, slay, kick,
minor ban (i suggest a couple of hours, nothing more).
